Brazil Sensations is now a Certified B Corporation®

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — Brazil Sensations, a DMC based in Rio de Janeiro specializing in incentive travel, corporate events (MICE) and luxury tourism, has achieved B Corp certification awarded by B Lab — the most rigorous, independently audited sustainability credential currently available to companies in the tourism industry.

Fewer than 200 tourism companies worldwide hold B Corp certification, among more than 4,000 certified B Corporations spread across more than 90 countries and a wide range of economic sectors. To achieve this certification, a company must score at least 80 out of 200 points in B Lab’s assessment, which evaluates criteria such as governance, treatment of employees, community impact, environmental performance and customer responsibility. This assessment looks at the company’s entire operation — not just a single trip or an isolated carbon offset initiative.

The median score among all companies assessed is approximately 51 points. In addition, the certification carries legal weight: B Corporations amend their governing documents to hold themselves accountable not only to shareholders, but also to their employees, their community and the environment. The certification must be renewed every three years, against increasingly demanding criteria.
